This is a courtyard just off of Sukhumvit Soi 4. There are three sides, three floors and it is wall to wall bars. Somewhere in the region of 50 at a guess though I’ve never had the presence of mind to count them.
Along the street near the entrance to the plaza are numerous street food stalls. Along here you can buy deep fried grasshoppers, huge maggotts and, what look suspiciously like cockroaches, to go with your beer. You may gag at the thought of it but in the north east they are quite a delicacy. And when you think about it whey should they be consifdered any more disgusting than shell fish.
On the ground floor there are numerous beer bars. Most of them TV sets, sometimes two so you can drink beer, watch sports and oggle girls all at the same time. What more could a man ask for? … yes, well there is that but it’s just not very practical. If United score and you leap off your stool to celebrate you’re going to choke the poor girl.
Around the perimeter are some gogo bars so you can pop inside for some tits and ass at half time.
The two biggest beer bars are Pharaos and Road House but the most popular seems to be Big Dogs at the entrance. Though this probabaly changes with the seasons it does afford a good view of everyone going in and out of the plaza.
The gogo bars seem to get bigger as you go up the stairs with only about four or five on the top floor.
Highlights
It is difficult to highlight any particular bar in Nana. There are so many packed within a comparatively small area that, after a couple of beers, I lose track of which bar I’m in.
Depending on the mood of local government and/or the police at any given time you mighrt find girls dancing naked and you might not. Playskool would be a good one to check out on the ground floor. Otherwise look in the big bars at the top. But even if the prevailing winds are chilly, the girls still won’t be wearing all that much
